Hi Dylan,

I completely hear you and if I was on the outside looking in I might have the same opinion as you do. The reason I did it was because the relationship was very unhealthy and it was slowly destroying me. I could have talked with my friend and if I could turn back time I would have done so in a more respectful way.

At the time I felt so torn down that I didn’t know how to even approach the subject. When I tried to talk to my friend about it I was always told I was in the wrong so eventually I just chose out.

A lot has changed since then and when I was strong enough to talk about things I reached out and received no response for awhile. I completely understood why I wasn’t getting a response and I wrote the article to explain how I was working through both my own choices and my friend’s choices in order to get closure.

I am not even close to being perfect and I can admit my mistakes — I just hope others learn from mine and also gain understanding of how to get closure when the way we want it to look isn’t so.

Thanks again for your feedback,

Alana
